for the stage by Lorenzo DeStefano A
distinguished and much honored old writer is dying. Haunted by the slow decay
of his body, the insidious progress towards death, CLIVE
LANGHAM, 78, struggles during one long night to create his final work
of fiction. Peering down from his lofty, liquor-strewn bedroom, Clive
formulates then obliterates his themes, intrudes upon the action, expertly
manipulates his characters. His wicked portraits of his late wife, MOLLY,
his son, CLAUD, Claud's wife
SONIA, and KEVIN, Clive's grandson by them, depict his entire family as
a roques gallery of the highest order. Soon Clives characters begin to
speak for themselves, to misbehave at random, turning it would seem, against
the Master. click text to enlarge Stage
